Does anyone here on Oppo make stop motion animations? If so, what software do you use (for Windows). I'd prefer it to be free, I don't want to have to shell out cash for one movie. Thanks!

Have you tried Windows Movie Maker? It's free and it lets you edit frame by frame. It will also to a title menu if you decide to burn in to DVD.
